If you have not subscribed to Flyby News (FN), then this is the first issue of 2010. Please take your time reading and absorbing, since there is quite a bit of information. However, I want to encourage you to take action soon, regarding item 2, which contains a formal response to Francis Boyle, Professor of International Law, from The Hague on his filing against Bush et al for the war-crime "Extraordinary Rendition." Please consider endorsing and supporting this campaign ASAP.
The first item begins with Dr. Lynn Margulis, who is a National Academy of Science member and distinguished professor at UMASS, Amherst. Her article, published in the February, 2010 issue of the Rock Creek Free Press, reveals her humanity and commitment to science and justice. I hear a lot about conspiracy theories, some feasible, some ridiculous, and of course, most anything could be claimed as possible. However, her analysis of the work of David Ray Griffin and others, is most refreshing. She has put her reputation on the line by accusing the official story, which claims two airplanes brought down three high-rise buildings as “the biggest lie.” An independent free mind must challenge the abuse of science and deception, especially when it justifies military invasions-occupations. The atrocity and abuse of Muslim innocent people must end. The real perpetrators are challenging everyone’s humanity to either wake up and take a stand, or slip into a denial pact for the illusion of security and comfort. I realize most everyone who reads this is united in this awareness, but we have not been united enough to effectively break through the media-mind control barriers to awaken a critical mass of the public. Please make a pact with all people of conscience to make this the year we become successful in this endeavor.
Item 1 also includes updates from Architects and Engineers, new information on the militarized anthrax, additional analysis on what hit the Pentagon, Janette MacKinlay, artist and 9/11 survivor, and more. Japan now has “9/11: Blueprint for Truth - The Architecture of Destruction” translated with major press and government leaders questioning what really happened. The second item, besides the War Crimes filing at The Hague, includes an article by Glenn Greenwald on Obama placing American citizens on a hit-list of people ‘authorized to be killed.’ Plus, a Democracy Now! link with an interview with the father of a 9 year-old child, killed by Blackwater in Iraq; also, a few articles to honor the wonderful work and life of historian, humanitarian, Howard Zinn. Please find inspiration in all this. We will need it to stand up to the monsters controlling world governments and media.
Please support the filing to The Hague soon and be ready for the next FN issue, which will include a campaign to engage the 9/11 truth community and peace activists. I will be providing text with clear evidence of Treason regarding the cover-up of the demolitions of the World Trade Center, and will request all to respond to US code 18 (Sec. 2382) - Misprision of treason -- which states: "Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States and having knowledge of the commission of any treason against them, conceals and does not, as soon as may be, disclose and make known the same to the President or to some judge of the United States, or to the governor or to some judge or justice of a particular State, is guilty of misprision of treason and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than seven years, or both."
We will request your taking the evidence to Judges in your community and demand their taking action, or to anyone, especially those who have taken sworn oaths of office to uphold and protect principles of the US Constitution. Also we will request your writing of your actions in letters to the editor in local newspapers.
Item 3 is part of this issue, too, because energy and uranium weapons is a big part of the downfall of the US Republic, and misleading the world into a death spiral arms race and war. This item also includes an article showing figures from NASA on how the last decade was the warmest ever recorded for our planet. Many are triggered by the disinformation of the energy warlords, playing the game between left and right, truth and deception, but the measurements and real science are not political or partisan. Many are fooled by the complexity of disinformation that seeks to push an elitist plan to profit and control the financial-political game for their dark motives. As per the crisis in Haiti, any turn to make a buck will be used over the anguish of many. Many want to believe that the altering of the climate by humanity is a hoax, but the numbers speak for themselves, and pollution has accumulated since the beginning of the industrial revolution, promoted by greed and willful or plain ignorance with deforestation killing the lungs of our living (or dying) planet. Also, in this item, note the action requested to stop the elitist energy plan. Tell Obama and the public that nuclear power is not safe or clean. Nukes threatens all life, since it will last beyond the time humankind may destroy itself. Members of Congress and the elitists will not be safe in their bunkers. Our only chance is to change the energy, control, weapon, deception pathway of where we are now headed. 9/11 truth is key. I comment here on the nanotechnology aspect of Jerry Mazza’s masterful review (Rock Creek Free Press, January 2010, page 6) of David Ray Griffin’s extraordinary 2009 book, The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7: Why the Final Official Report about 9/11 is Unscientific and False.
By the time we (Dorion Sagan – my eldest son and Sciencewriters partner – and I) met David Griffin in 2003 in his native habitat at the Center for Process Studies (which is on the campus of the Claremont School of Theology in southern California), he had written over two dozen books, none of which I had ever read or even heard of. We immensely enjoyed a three-day scientific-philosophical meeting on the Darwinian-evolutionary view of life that had been organized by Griffin’s sage mentor, the sweet-tempered but razor sharp, Jimmy Carter-sounding, octogenarian professor emeritus and director, John B. Cobb, Jr. The results of this fascinating meeting have since been published (Cobb, ed. 2008).
At that meeting, Griffin’s talk was sober, academic, competent, scholarly – and entirely new to me: Christian theology in a much broader philosophical context than any to which I had ever been exposed.The science-friendly philosophical outlook Griffin espoused apparently was developed by Alfred North Whitehead (1861-1947), the English mathematician-philosopher who became a Harvard professor, or by Cobb. Why would I have known anything about this theological-philosophical work? My own expertise after all is in protoctist and organellar genetics. With close colleagues I reconstruct the origin and evolution of nucleated cells in the Proterozoic Eon. Where I understood DRG’s talk at all, he made clear to me his honesty. Truth, especially scientifically/empirically established truth, seemed intrinsic to his Christianity. As a typical agnostic scientist overtly critical of organized, and even disorganized, religion, I was surprised by the scientific commitment to approaching empirical truth in a religious context rather than the usual authority-pleasing consensus.
Griffin went on to elaborate that, although as a Whiteheadian he embraces the methods and results of science, he is critical of the entire international scientific enterprise as generally practiced today. Not only do scientists extrapolate their intrinsically specialized empirical knowledge into intellectual territory where it does not belong, but they don’t heed Whitehead’s recognition that, after all, scientists –like all people – have an emotional life and an inner spirit. The acclaimed “objectivity of science,” on close scholarly inspection (by, say, Cobb, Griffin and other Whiteheadians), often translates into tribalism, jingoism, naiveté, denial of obvious truths, uncritical service to The State, and other forms of profoundly dangerous ignorance. Scientists, as do all groups of people, share unstated philosophical assumptions. For example, they not only have faith in the consistency and “knowability” of the real world, but they often assume that the concrete particulars of the world are adequately described by the abstractions that have proved useful for limited purposes in their own disciplines – an assumption that Whitehead called the “fallacy of misplaced concreteness.”
On the return trip east from this meeting, I read, non-stop, DRG’s seminal book on 9/11, The New Pearl Harbor. Since then I have watched the “aging theologian” (his self-description as quipped in the excellent video-graphed lecture “9/11 and Nationalist Faith” (or was it 9/11: Let’s Get Empirical? Both are highly recommended) metamorphose from a compelling, careful scholar to a brave and extraordinary orator (but still careful scholar). Griffin has become a superb politician with a single agenda item: We must re-open public inquiry into the events of September 11, 2001, especially the collapse of the World Trade Center.

The Anthrax Attacks Remain UnsolvedThe article makes the case that the scapegoat Ivins could not have made the anthrax used in the attacks since it had relatively high concentrations of silicon, which he could not have created.
I still believe that the anthrax case is one of the best opportunities for the 9/11 truth movement. The facts are relatively straightforward compared to 9/11. If it could be shown that the anthrax attacks originated from the US government or agents thereof, it would produce a massive shift in the public's thinking. People would then be forced to accept the fact that they have been lied to and the country was attacked through an inside job. That would open up, in my opinion, a huge opportunity to expose the truth about 9/11.

On January 26, 2010, Janette MacKinlay, a survivor of 9/11, underwent surgery, a biopsy, following the discovery of a brain tumor last week. I saw her in the hospital following the surgery, and she was her warm, gracious, lucid self, even sharing with me the latest examples of note cards she has had printed, featuring her beautiful ikebana art images. Last September, we had worked together on the 9/11 Film Festival, held at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, California to draw attention to many 9/11 issues, including the plight of the those suffering from their exposure to the toxic dust, over 800 have died so far, that we know about. Janette believes that her tumor was probably caused by 9/11 and that she, along with many, many, others will be counted as victims of 9/11, as more and more “cancers and tumors” are found.
Fortunate- A Personal Diary of 9/11
Janette’s entire story bears repeating. She wrote a book, Fortunate- A Personal Diary of 9/11, which features photographs from her personal experience, as well as the ikebana floral arrangements that she created, in her effort to heal. On September 11, 2001, she was living across the street from the World Trade Center, and directly witnessed the fires and the collapses which broke the windows of her apartment. Some of the dust that she saved from her apartment, she sent to the physicist Steven Jones who analyzed it, finding iron spheres, as well as chips of nanothermite. Janette had a cameo appearance in Loose Change- 9/11 An American Coup, as well as other 9/11 truth documentaries, and has been interviewed on many mainstream television and radio stations. I hope a great, sensitive, filmmaker decides to make a film about Janette someday, because her story is one of great personal transformation, courage and hope, illustrated by her artistic creations. They say that the most personal story is the most universal and I suspect that the collective American psyche has not yet caught up with Janette, but will someday, hopefully before it is too late.
I met Janette in the summer of 2004, when activists had launched a campaign to “Blow the Whistle on the 9/11 Cover-Up!” in the Bay Area, and had gathered at a Commonwealth Club event where the featured speakers were members of the 9/11 Commission reporting their findings. I was tabling outside of the event and gave Janette a copy of David Ray Griffin’s The New Pearl Harbor-Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration for her book. The Deception Dollar artist, Blaine Machan, by coincidence, sent me Janette’s contact info on the same day that I met her (She had contacted him and was including Deception Dollars in one of her anti-war art exhibitions). Janette says that the commissioners, themselves, that day, persuaded her that they were concealing, rather than searching for the truth about 9/11. Subsequently, Janette became very active with our group, the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance, hosting and organizing events, parties, mailing parties, becoming Treasurer, as well as speaking out publicly. Later, when she visited New York and her old apartment complex, she discovered that her renovated apartment was for rent, she decided to move back to New York City, and became involved with the East Coast activists. Her unique connections with family members, survivors, West Coast activists, East Coast activists helped her to bridge differences and pull diverse people together. She poured a lot of energy into the 9/11 Accountability Conference in Arizona in 2007, as well as the NYC Coalition for Accountability Now effort in 2009.
In the past few months, a number of meetings have been held with lawyers and activists, discussing how best to secure subpoena power and get those most responsible for 9/11 to speak, and to be held criminally accountable for their actions. Janette has been amongst the most active people, doing the vital legwork to seek accountability.
Mike Daly, an ironworker, who has been trying to educate the public about the enormous Captive Fund- created by Congress to “compensate workers for their injuries involved in the clean-up” (See- www.wtccaptivefund.com The huge fund has only hired lawyers to fight claims, paid out almost no money at all to those who have suffered ill health, as a result of 9/11, but has paid big bucks to those managing the fund.) well, Mike was visiting Janette last Wednesday evening when Janette suddenly had trouble speaking. A friend had telephoned her to ask for directions and realized that something was seriously wrong with her and came over immediately to get her to the hospital. Mike had gone to see Janette, because he felt that her artwork should be made into metal sculptures, memorials to 9/11.
This week, Janette had planned to begin taking care of her three month old grandson, Huxley, two days a week. Those plans have been turned upside-down and her two sons, Brian and Mark ,have been looking after Janette and taking her to and from the hospital.
I have not spoken directly with Janette’s doctors or her family about her medical condition. I learned from Janette that they told her that she has a fast growing tumor, the kind associated with people doing construction work, and that the professionals have advised her that she has between 6 months and a year to live. I have learned, from experience, that patients are sometimes not told the truth about their condition or their treatments, and that Western medicine has its limitations. I learned about alternative medicine, before I learned about “alternative politics or alternative media.” Years ago, my fiancé had a tumor, the size of an orange, removed from the center of his brain, and received a very bleak diagnosis for survival. He also had a dramatic remission, thanks to a classic Chinese herbal treatment, prescribed by the Director of Cancer Research in Beijing. I know many people who have survived brain tumors and who have overcome cancer through holistic, natural remedies. Janette has a very strong spirit and with the love and support of friends and family, I hope that she will recover from her surgery, and in the process of healing herself, add to our insights on how we can heal the world. I believe that truth, love, spirit are stronger than the lies, fear, malice deployed to control humanity.
I would encourage everyone to send some love and healing energy towards Janette, as well as towards all the victims, first responders, inhabitants of New York City, and New Jersey, who came into contact with the toxic dust.

Champaign, U.S.A./The Hague, Netherlands (19 Jan 2010). -- Professor Francis A. Boyle of the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, U.S.A. has filed a Complaint with the Prosecutor for the International Criminal Court (I.C.C.) in The Hague against U.S. citizens George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, George Tenet, Condoleezza Rice, and Alberto Gonzales (the “Accused”) for their criminal policy and practice of “extraordinary rendition” perpetrated upon about 100 human beings. This term is really their euphemism for the enforced disappearance of persons and their consequent torture. This criminal policy and practice by the Accused constitute Crimes against Humanity in violation of the Rome Statute establishing the I.C.C.
The United States is not a party to the Rome Statute. Nevertheless the Accused have ordered and been responsible for the commission of I.C.C. statutory crimes within the respective territories of many I.C.C. member states, including several in Europe. Consequently, the I.C.C. has jurisdiction to prosecute the Accused for their I.C.C. statutory crimes under Rome Statute article 12(2)(a) that affords the I.C.C. jurisdiction to prosecute for I.C.C. statutory crimes committed in I.C.C. member states.
The Complaint requests (1) that the I.C.C. Prosecutor open an investigation of the Accused on his own accord under Rome Statute article 15(1); and (2) that the I.C.C. Prosecutor also formally “submit to the [I.C.C.] Pre-Trial Chamber a request for authorization of an investigation” of the Accused under Rome Statute article 15(3).
For similar reasons, the Highest Level Officials of the Obama administration risk the filing of a follow-up Complaint with the I.C.C. if they do not immediately terminate the Accused’s criminal policy and practice of “extraordinary rendition,” which the Obama administration has continued to implement.
The Complaint concludes with a request that the I.C.C. Prosecutor obtain International Arrest Warrants for the Accused from the I.C.C. in accordance with Rome Statute articles 58(1)(a), 58(1)(b)(i), 58(1)(b)(ii), and 58(1)(b)(iii).

Dear Sir:
Please accept my personal compliments. I have the honor hereby to file with you and the International Criminal Court this Complaint against U.S. citizens George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, George Tenet, Condoleezza Rice , and Alberto Gonzales (hereinafter referred to as the “Accused”) for their criminal policy and practice of “extraordinary rendition.” This term is really a euphemism for the enforced disappearances of persons, their torture, severe deprivation of their liberty, their violent sexual abuse, and other inhumane acts perpetrated upon these Victims. The Accused have inflicted this criminal policy and practice of “extraordinary rendition” upon about one hundred (100) human beings, almost all of whom are Muslims/Arabs/Asians and People of Color. I doubt very seriously that the Accused would have inflicted these criminal practices upon 100 White Judeo-Christian men.
The Accused’s criminal policy and practice of “extraordinary rendition” are both “widespread” and “systematic” within the meaning of Rome Statute article 7(1). Therefore the Accused have committed numerous “Crimes against Humanity” in flagrant and repeated and longstanding violation of Rome Statute articles 5(1)(b), 7(1)(a), 7(1)(e), 7(1)(f), 7(1)(g), 7(1)(h), 7(1)(i), and 7(1)(k). Furthermore, the Accused’s Rome Statute Crimes Against Humanity of enforced disappearances of persons constitutes ongoing criminal activity that continues even as of today.
The United States is not a contracting party to the Rome Statute. Nevertheless, the Accused ordered and were responsible for the commission of these I.C.C. statutory crimes on, in, and over the respective territories of several I.C.C. member states, including many located in Europe. Therefore, the I.C.C. has jurisdiction over the Accused for their I.C.C. statutory crimes in accordance with Rome Statute article 12(2)(a), which provides as follows:

2. In the case of article 13, paragraph (a) or (c), the Court may exercise its jurisdiction if one or more of the following States are Parties to this Statute or have accepted the jurisdiction of the Court in accordance with paragraph 3:
(a) The State on the territory of which the conduct in question occurred …
So the fact that United States is not a contracting party to the Rome Statute is no bar to the I.C.C.’s prosecution of the Accused because they have ordered and been responsible for the commission of Rome Statute Crimes against Humanity on, in, and over the respective territories of several I.C.C. member states.
Consequently, I hereby respectfully request that the Court exercise its jurisdiction over the Accused for these Crimes against Humanity in accordance with Rome Statute article 13(c), which provides as follows:
Article 13
Exercise of Jurisdiction
The Court may exercise its jurisdiction with respect to a crime referred to in article 5 in accordance with the provisions of this Statute if:

(c) The Prosecutor has initiated an investigation in respect of such a crime in accordance with article 15.
Pursuant to Rome Statute article 13(c), I hereby respectfully request that you initiate an investigation proprio motu against the Accused in accordance with Rome Statute article 15(1): “The Prosecutor may initiate investigations proprio motu on the basis of information on crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court.” My detailed Complaint against the Accused constitutes the sufficient “information” required by article 15(1).
Furthermore, I respectfully submit that this Complaint by itself constitutes “a reasonable basis to proceed with an investigation” under Rome Statute article 15(3). Hence, I also respectfully request that you formally “submit to the Pre-Trial Chamber a request for authorization of an investigation” of the Accused under Rome Statute article 15(3) at this time. Please inform me at your earliest convenience about the status and disposition of my two requests set forth immediately above.
Based upon your extensive human rights work in Argentina, you know full well from direct personal experience the terrors and the horrors of enforced disappearances of persons and their consequent torture. According to reputable news media sources here in the United States, about 100 human beings have been subjected to enforced disappearances and subsequent torture by the Accused. We still have no accounting for these Victims. In other words, many of these Victims of enforced disappearances and torture by the Accused could still be alive today. Their very lives are at stake right now as we communicate. You could very well save some of their lives by publicly stating that you are opening an investigation of my Complaint.
As for those Victims of enforced disappearances by the Accused who have died, your opening an investigation of my Complaint is the only means by which we might be able to obtain some explanation and accounting for their whereabouts and the location of their remains in order to communicate this critical information to their next-of-kin and loved-ones. Based upon your extensive experience combating enforced disappearances of persons and their consequent torture in Argentina, you know full well how important that objective is. The next-of-kin, loved-ones, and friends of “disappeared” human beings can never benefit from psychological “closure” unless and until there is an accounting for the fates, if not the remains, of the Victims. In part that is precisely why the Accused’s enforced disappearances of about 100 human beings constitutes ongoing criminal activity that continues as of today and will continue until the fates of all their Victims have been officially determined by you opening an investigation into my Complaint.
Let us mutually suppose that during the so-called “dirty war” in Argentina the International Criminal Court had been in existence. I submit that as an Argentinean human rights lawyer you would have moved heaven and earth and done everything in your power to get the I.C.C. and its Prosecutor to assume jurisdiction over the Argentine Junta in order to terminate and prosecute their enforced disappearances and torture of your fellow Argentinean citizens. I would have done the same. Unfortunately, the I.C.C. did not exist during those darkest of days for the Argentine Republic when we could have so acted. But today as the I.C.C. Prosecutor, you have both the opportunity and the legal power to do something to rectify this mass and total human rights annihilation, and to resolve and to terminate and to prosecute the “widespread” and “systematic” policy and practice of enforced disappearances and consequent torture of about 100 human beings by the Accused.
Unfortunately, the new Obama administration in the United States has made it perfectly clear by means of public statements by President Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder that they are not going to open any criminal investigation of any of the Accused for these aforementioned Crimes against Humanity. Hence an I.C.C. “case” against the Accused is “admissible” under Rome Statute article 1(complementarity) and article 17. As of right now you and the I.C.C. Judges are the only people in the entire world who can bring some degree of Justice, Closure, and Healing into this dire, tragic, and deplorable situation for the lives and well-being of about one hundred “disappeared” and tortured human beings as well as for their loved-ones and next-of-kin, who are also Victims of the Accused’s Crimes against Humanity. On behalf of them all, as a fellow human rights lawyer I implore you to open an investigation into my Complaint and to issue a public statement to that effect.
Also, most regretfully, the new Obama administration has publicly stated that it will continue the Accused’s policy and practice of "extraordinary rendition," which is really their euphemism for enforced disappearances of human beings and consequent torture by other States. Hence the Highest Level Officials of the Obama administration fully intend to commit their own Crimes against Humanity under the I.C.C. Rome Statute – unless you stop them! Your opening an investigation of my Complaint will undoubtedly deter the Obama administration from engaging in any more “extraordinary renditions” -- enforced disappearances of human beings and having them tortured by other States. Indeed your opening of an investigation into my Complaint might encourage the Obama administration to terminate its criminal “extraordinary rendition” program immediately and thoroughly by means of issuing a public statement to that effect. In other words, your opening an investigation of my Complaint could very well save the lives of a large number of additional human beings who otherwise will be subjected by the Obama administration to the Rome Statute Crimes against Humanity of enforced disappearances of persons and their consequent torture by other States, inter alia.
The lives and well-being of countless human beings are now at risk, hanging in the balance, waiting for you to act promptly, effectively, and immediately to save them from becoming Victims of Rome Statute Crimes against Humanity perpetrated by the Highest Level Officials of the Obama administration as successors-in-law to the Accused by opening an investigation of my Complaint. Otherwise, I shall be forced to file with you and the I.C.C. a follow-up Complaint against the Highest Level Officials of the Obama administration. I certainly hope it will not come to that. Please make it so.
Finally, for reasons more fully explained in the Conclusion to my Complaint, I respectfully request that you obtain I.C.C. arrest warrants for the Accused in accordance with Rome Statute articles 58(1)(a), article 58(1)(b)(i), article 58(1)(b)(ii), and article 58(1)(b)(iii). The sooner, the better for all humankind.
I respectfully request that you schedule a meeting with me at our earliest mutual convenience in order to discuss this Complaint. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
This transmission letter is an integral part of my Complaint against the Accused and is hereby incorporated by reference into the attached Complaint dated as of today as well.

HOWARD ZINN: Well, we thought bombing missions were over. The war was about to come to an end. This was in April of 1945, and remember the war ended in early May 1945. This was a few weeks before the war was going to be over, and everybody knew it was going to be over, and our armies were past France into Germany, but there was a little pocket of German soldiers hanging around this little town of Royan on the Atlantic coast of France, and the Air Force decided to bomb them. Twelve hundred heavy bombers, and I was in one of them, flew over this little town of Royan and dropped napalm—first use of napalm in the European theater.
And we don’t know how many people were killed or how many people were terribly burned as a result of what we did. But I did it like most soldiers do, unthinkingly, mechanically, thinking we’re on the right side, they’re on the wrong side, and therefore we can do whatever we want, and it’s OK. And only afterward, only really after the war when I was reading about Hiroshima from John Hersey and reading the stories of the survivors of Hiroshima and what they went through, only then did I begin to think about the human effects of bombing. Only then did I begin to think about what it meant to human beings on the ground when bombs were dropped on them, because as a bombardier, I was flying at 30,000 feet, six miles high, couldn’t hear screams, couldn’t see blood. And this is modern warfare.
In modern warfare, soldiers fire, they drop bombs, and they have no notion, really, of what is happening to the human beings that they’re firing on. Everything is done at a distance. This enables terrible atrocities to take place. And I think, reflecting back on that bombing raid and thinking of that in Hiroshima and all the other raids on civilian cities and the killing of huge numbers of civilians in German and Japanese cities, the killing of 100,000 people in Tokyo in one night of fire-bombing, all of that made me realize war, even so-called good wars against fascism like World War II, wars don’t solve any fundamental problems, and they always poison everybody on both sides. They poison the minds and souls of everybody on both sides. We’re seeing that now in Iraq, where the minds of our soldiers are being poisoned by being an occupying army in a land where they are not wanted. And the results are terrible.

..As a combat veteran and historian, I could never hope to remotely follow in Zinn’s footsteps. Even onto his death at 87, he was tireless in his fight for truth, his opposition to war and his rage against those dishonoring America. His tools were his honesty, his impeccable scholarship and his genuine love of his country, a country he worked every day of his life to save against elements, elements of endless power backed by endless money that live only to spread fear, lies and to cripple each generation more than the last.
I had written an article recently criticizing the Supreme Courts recent 5/4 decision to allow corporations unlimited ability to influence elections. I have a reasonable background in Constitutional history, the document itself and most of the schools of interpretation. On a personal note, I figure that 2 or 3 of the 5 judges who voted in the majority must be insane and 2 others either bribed or their families were being held hostage by a drug cartel. I tried to explain the ramifications to American independence as best I could, but I still receive “think tank” responses from readers, Cato, Heritage etc., that backed the most insane and anti-American act of our country’s history. Zinn lived to give Americans intellectual tools and strength of character to toss aside lies like this. He is gone. We can hope his words will reach more of those around us.
Our children shouldn’t have to suffer, living in a country we bankrupted thru ignorance, an ignorance some still value above their families, their nation and their sanity. Howard Zinn was about sanity.

Candidate Obama knew this. You can go here to see a Youtube video of Obama expressing his concern for his daughters living in Chicago and surrounded by nuclear reactors. He specifically says he is not a nuclear proponent. And he specifically opposes taxpayer subsidies for new nuclear reactors.

WASHINGTON - The past decade was the warmest ever on Earth, a new analysis of global surface temperatures released by NASA showed Thursday.
The US space agency also found that 2009 was the second-warmest year on record since modern temperature measurements began in 1880. Last year was only a small fraction of a degree cooler than 2005, the warmest yet, putting 2009 in a virtual tie with the other hottest years, which have all occurred since 1998.
According to James Hansen, who heads NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, global temperatures change due to variations in ocean heating and cooling.
"When we average temperature over five or 10 years to minimize that variability, we find global warming is continuing unabated," Hansen said in a statement.
